How train the trainer works
Choose your trainers
Pick experienced, respected staff who can be given time to train others.
We qualify them
Your trainers learn the course content in depth and how to teach it, and are assessed on their delivery.
They train your team
Your trainers deliver the certified or accredited course to colleagues, with our materials and support behind them.
A note on certification
A train the trainer course is not certified in its own right. The certification belongs to the course your trainers go on to deliver. That is how the RRN certification scheme works: it certifies the training provider, the approved curriculum and the authorised trainers together. Ask any provider which of the courses your trainers will deliver are certified, and by whom.
Physical intervention train the trainer
Our physical intervention train the trainer courses start with behaviour and de-escalation, and teach safe physical skills as a last resort. Each one is built for the setting your trainers work in, because a children's home, a school and an adult service face different risks and work under different guidance.

Training when you need it
New starters and refreshers are trained on your timetable, not when an external trainer is free.
Trainers who know your people
In-house trainers bring real examples from your setting, so the training feels relevant from the first minute.
One consistent approach
Everyone learns the same language and the same way of working, across every shift, site and team.
Lower cost as you grow
Once your trainers are qualified, the cost per person trained falls as you train more staff.

- How are trainers assessed before they are signed off?
- What materials, updates and support do trainers get afterwards?
- Are there per-head certificate charges when our trainers deliver the course?
- Is prevention and de-escalation taught before any physical skills?

What people say about our training
“The result is a more settled start to the day for the staff team and pupils. Clear direction for the team on how to approach analysis of behaviour and troubleshoot proactively rather than reactively. An increase in stability within each team, increased attendance and focus in lessons, better communication and ultimately it has empowered the team and my SLT to take responsibility and ownership. We are only half a term in and the indications are that this is a brilliant process for our school. My team have relished the consistency and space to have these discussions and it has been nothing but a positive drive forwards towards outstanding.”
“Ofsted was very successful, I am very pleased with the judgement. I have always known that we are on a journey that would take five years. So with two years complete, we have made remarkable progress. Once again, thank you for all your help and support. What you've brought to the organisation is what Aristotle would call phronesis: the complicated interplay between theory and practical judgement. Thank you.”
“Everyone left the course feeling inspired and motivated. Thank you, the course was, in my opinion, excellent and I felt that everyone left the course feeling inspired and motivated thinking ‘what can I do better to be a superstar?’. That in itself gives a clear indication of the quality of the material from the course and the way you delivered it.”
“The trainers knowledge and experience are phenomenal. No questions went unanswered. I think anyone who works with any kind of vulnerable adult or child will benefit from this course.”
