Our Children’s Homes Refresher courses provide BILD Act (RRN) compliant annual update training to ensure safe, confident and legally defensible practice when supporting children in crisis.
The refresher builds on prior learning in trauma, attachment and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), revisiting key theory such as brain architecture, lived experiences and regulation, while strengthening therapeutic language, relational repair and de-escalation strategies.
Physical intervention skills are reviewed to prevent skill fade and maintain safe practice in line with RRN Training Standards. Each refresher also includes updated theory content to ensure learning remains current, thought-provoking and relevant to residential childcare settings.
The programme supports services to maintain compliance, reduce restrictive practice (#AimingForZero) and sustain a healthy, therapeutic culture.
